What Is an Inlay?

An inlay fits within the cusps (points) of the biting surface of a back tooth. It is used when decay or damage is too extensive for a simple filling but does not require a full crown.

What Is an Onlay

An onlay covers a larger area of the tooth, extending over one or more of the cusps. It is sometimes called a ‘partial crown’ and is ideal when significant damage affects the tooth’s biting surface or sides.

Placement & Final Adjustments
